System Permissions

Screen Recording

Allows CodingCompanion to analyze screen content and provide relevant solutions.

Accessibility

Enables keyboard shortcuts and blocks keyboard events at OS level to ensure CodingCompanion remains invisible.

Granting Permissions:

  1. Launch CodingCompanion after installation
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to grant permissions
  3. If needed, go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy tab

Important: These permissions are essential for CodingCompanion to function correctly and remain undetectable during interviews.

Platform Compatibility

Browser-Based Meetings

All meeting platforms are fully supported when accessed through a web browser. CodingCompanion will be completely invisible during screen sharing.

Recommended: Use browser versions whenever possible for best results.

Desktop Applications

Most desktop meeting applications are supported, with some exceptions and special settings:

  • Zoom: Requires special settings (see below)
  • Amazon Chime: Desktop version not supported, use browser only (Just click “Join from browser”)
  • Others: Both desktop and browser versions supported

Zoom Desktop App Setup

To use CodingCompanion with the Zoom desktop application, you need to enable "Advanced screen sharing with window filtering":

  1. Open Zoom desktop app
  2. Click your profile picture → Settings
  3. Select the "Share Screen" tab, click advanced
  4. Enable "Advanced screen sharing with window filtering"
  5. Restart Zoom after changing this setting

Pro Tip: Always test your setup with your chosen interview platform before the actual interview.

Do a practice run with a friend or record a test session to ensure CodingCompanion remains invisible during screen sharing.

Important: When sharing your screen during interviews, never click directly on the CodingCompanion app. Use only keyboard shortcuts to interact with it.
